Ed. Note: Rebellion opened in the former Mum Mum space back in 2014.
Rebellion DC writes:
“Due to the economic hardships placed on our industry and us personally as a business, we can confirm that the difficult decision to close Rebellion DC has been made. Being shut down three separate times due to COVID-19 and a landlord unwilling to work with us on any type of rent reduction and/or deferment has made for an untenable situation. This is the most heartbreaking decision we have ever had to make. We wish the best to others who find themselves in a similar situation during this pandemic, because this sucks.
We would like to thank all of our current and former employees for everything they have given and done for us over the past six plus years. We would also like to graciously thank all of our loyal customers and partners in this venture who have made Rebellion what it was here in Washington, DC. We could not have become one of “America’s Best Bourbon Bars” without you.
Our LAST CALL will be Saturday 9/19, we hope to see many familiar faces.
F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote, “Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.” So, while this is a major blow that will sting for some time, that Whiskey Rebellion flag will continue to fly in our exisiting and future locations.”
