Update: UPS Driver Reportedly Injured. Multiple Shots Fired Reported in Columbia Heights at 3:25pm

: I’ve just seen a photo where UPS driver seems ok but is on a gurney with his leg wrapped next to an ambulance.

Update from MPD:

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the area of 14th and Girard Streets NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

A second individual, a juvenile male, has been transported from the area of 14th and Irving Streets NW with a non-life threatening injury to the hand. We are investigating to see if this is a gunshot wound and whether this is related to the incident at Girard Street or not.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

826DC is a local nonprofit that offers free writing programs, homework help, and publishing opportunities for DC students ages 6-18, in our Columbia Heights writing center and in learning spaces across the city.
