From the Mayor’s Office:

“The District’s reported data for Tuesday, July 28, 2020 includes 54 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 11,999.

The District reported one additional COVID-19 related death.

· 62-year-old female

Tragically, 584 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

The community spread chart is subject to fluctuation because the data is based on symptom onset date. As national demand for testing increases and results take longer to come back in DC and across the country, DC Health has identified a need to increase the reporting lag time by four days to reduce volatility in the data. The most recent data reflects an increase in community spread. To ensure this graph accurately reflects the most recent data, the community spread count is being paused as these adjustments are made.”

The District’s data shows that 3.9% of new COVID-19 cases are from quarantined contacts. That data is represented in the chart below.

The District’s data shows a sustained transmission rate of 0.91. That data is represented in the chart below.

The positivity rate graph has been updated to display a seven-day rolling average. In addition, the threshold to reach Phase Three has been adjusted from a 10% positivity rate (below 10% for seven days) to a 5% positivity rate (seven-day average). The District’s current seven-day average positivity rate is 3.7% among residents. That data is represented in the chart below.
