“Let’s keep D.C. restaurants busy and our healthcare workers well fed.”

“Dear PoPville,

I started The Meal Bridge in DC to help local DC restaurants and healthcare providers. The idea is to have individuals or families sign up on the website to order a meal for the ICU staff of 12 and have it delivered.

email [email protected] for any restaurants that would like to participate. Additionally, we are in the process of adding some units at GW Hospital.”

Other options to help healthcare workers Operation Coronavirus Dry Skin Relief and Feeding Those Treating Us:

“DC local chef Erik Bruner-Yang will be teaming up with me to create meals for our DC hospitals. Thanks, Erik!

I would like to have this an ongoing thing through the pandemic, and even include other departments like the ICU of hospitals into the mix, if possible.

I will also provide receipts (for accountability), and photographs and hopefully videos of the staff’s receipt of meals so that you can see the smiles of appreciation.”

and Lost Sock Roasters Covid19 Response:

“We are organizing a coffee drop, donating bags of coffee to our local hospitals with words of appreciation and encouragement. We’d love for you to help. You can anonymously “sponsor” a bag of coffee through our website and leave a comment on your order with a note, or you can personally send a nurse/doctor you know a 10z bag of coffee. The $5 fee will help us cover some of our costs, but not all of them. Each week, we’ll deliver all of the anonymous gifts to a DC area hospital, while your personal gifts will be shipped on a rolling basis.

We not only want to keep these heroes caffeinated but we also want to make sure we, the community, show them our appreciation for their selfless work and dedication. We’d really appreciate your help spreading the word.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
