What The “ADT sending door knockers in Ft Totten”?!?

“Dear PoPville,

I live in Fort Totten and just got a knock on my door (Tuesday 4:15pm) from two people who said they worked for ADT and wanted to sell me a home security system. Many of my neighbors are elderly and in the “at risk” population by age, and don’t need strangers knocking on the door during a global pandemic. Nor do any of us for that matter!

I wrote an email to DC Department Of Health thinking that maybe they could have the company cease this activity on public health grounds, but (understandably) I got an auto response that it might be awhile to hear a response from them. Any ideas on how to stop a company from needlessly increasing person to person contact in my neighborhood?
