I was in the new Valley Brook Tea in Dupont this morning and the man behind the register told me that I was the first customer of the day (it was already 10:30) and that people seem to be avoiding his store since the local coronavirus news intensified. He said someone even walked in, saw his face, turned around, and walked out. He got a little emotional telling me about it which made me both angry and sad. It seems ridiculous and xenophobic on top of the fact that everyone in there is so nice and the tea is authentic and delicious! Also a great space/workspace that’s a huge improvement on the former Starbucks.“
