“Last summer, Here’s The Scoop! announced its opening and its desire to bring together community. Now, Here’s The Scoop! is partnering with Esperanza for an ice cream happy hour that will raise money to support local immigrant students.
The Esperanza Education Fund is a volunteer-run organization that provides scholarships and professional mentorship to college-bound immigrant students in DC, Maryland, and Virginia — regardless of their immigration status.
Over the past 12 years, Esperanza has awarded over one million dollars to more than 100 immigrant scholars in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Scholars are paired with mentors who typically work in the field the students are interested in, who help them navigate college and troubleshoot whatever issues pop up.
On Thursday, February 20 from 5-7 pm, 25% of every ice cream purchase goes to Esperanza! Stop by to enjoy delicious ice cream AND support our community in more ways than one!”
