Prius Chase Friday Night in Columbia Heights related to earlier “Burglary One and First Degree Sexual Abuse Offense” in Pleasant Plains; Shots Fired Near Petworth Metro last night

Ed. Note: Friday night I received tons of messages about an MPD pursuit of a Prius in Columbia Heights. It was related to the below report.

From MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit announces two arrests have been made in connection with a Burglary One and First Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, February 7, 2020, in the 700 block of Girard Street, Northwest.

At approximately 2:56 am, the suspects gained entry to a residence at the listed location. Once inside, the suspects approached an adult female victim and sexually assaulted her. The suspects took property and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.

On Friday, February 7, 2020, a 14 year-old juvenile male, and a 16 year-old juvenile male, both of Northwest, DC, were arrested and charged with Burglary One and Theft One.

This case remains under investigation.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411. Crime Solvers of Washington, DC currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for any crime committed in the District of Columbia.”

“On February 10, 2020, at approximately 1:38am, there are multiple sounds of gunshots in the 700 block of Quincy St NW. Fourth District officers canvassed the area and located ballistic shell casings; there were no reported injuries.”
