Thanks to Brian G for sending us the map above last night: “The Maren’s map has a couple new restaurants/bars that haven’t been announced yet?” I went to Maren’s website this morning and they had removed El Rey and American Ice Company from the map.
Kathyrn Beard also tweeted the map and Eat DC asked El Rey (919 U Street, NW) and one of American Ice Company’s (917 V Street, NW) proprietors, Ian Hilton, if it was true. Hilton replied: “Cat has firm grip on my tongue at the moment.”
In my experiences when someone doesn’t deny something outright then the cat is usually out of the bag…but you can come to your own conclusions. AND STAY TUNED.
