“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, January 19, 2020, in the 1300 block of U Street, Northwest.
At approximately 3:20 am, the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and assaulted the victim.
The suspect was arrested by responding officers. Investigation at the scene revealed that this offense was the result of a dispute between known parties.
On Sunday, January 19, 2020, 40-year-old Edward Morgan, of Gaithersburg, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).”
