Update with full press release:

“Today, Mexicue is thrilled open the doors to its first restaurant in Washington DC and sixth shop nationwide, located in the 14th Street corridor of Washington, DC. What started as a food truck in 2010 by founder Thomas Kelly, Mexicue has grown to include five locations in NYC and Connecticut. The casual, convivial restaurant has taken inspiration from Mexico and the American South and created a unique mashup of flavorful, fun food and cocktails in an upbeat, vibrant atmosphere.

“We’ve had our eye on DC for a while and fell in love with its rich culture and history,” says founder Thomas Kelly. “This growth marks an exciting time for Mexicue, and through it we hope to positively contribute to the DC community and get to know the people in our new home.”

Menu highlights include Tacos like the Pulled Pork with creamy chipotle and fresh corn salsa and Crispy Fish with salsa verde, house pickled peppers and watermelon radish alongside other unique spins on Mexican favorites like Tostadas topped with Maryland Crab for a DC-only menu item and Quesarritos, a grilled tortilla stuffed with melted cheese and flavorful fillings like Smoky Chicken with guajillo chili salsa and house tortilla strips. With a focus on simple down-home cooking techniques, Mexicue smokes, braises, and creates all of their salsas, sides, and toppings from scratch daily.

With a strong bar program to complement the shareable menu, the cocktail menu features an assortment of margaritas, like the Smoky Margarita with Pueblo Viejo tequila blanco, mezcal, mole bitters, chili simple syrup and lime juice, and classics made with a choice of tequila, mezcal or bourbon like the Paloma with fresh grapefruit & lime juice, chili syrup and hibiscus. They also have a robust tequila, mezcal and agave spirits list, featuring a new flight program that highlights favorites from their collection of over 50 different varieties. In addition, the menu includes a mocktail section, with non-alcoholic beverages made with house-made ingredients like the Grapefruit Paloma with chili hibiscus simple syrup and lime.

Located at 1720 14th Street NW, the DC location of Mexicue will offer lunch, dinner, happy hour and brunch. Hours are Sunday – Thursday 11 am – 11 pm and Friday – Saturday 11 am – 1am, with a weekday Happy Hour from 4 – 7 pm. Mexicue is a quick, casual full-service restaurant that brings good music, strong quality drinks and shareable mouth-watering food to the vibrant 14th street neighborhood of DC.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
