“Officers in the Third District recovered 2 illegal firearms in the Columbia Heights area today. The first gun was recovered during the execution of a search warrant in the 3000 block of 14th Street NW. The second gun was recovered on the 2800 block of 14th Street NW. Arrests were made in both cases.
We will continue our efforts to remove illegal firearms from our community and hold those individuals who have them accountable.”

“On September 26, 2019 at approximately 9:30 pm, members of the Fourth District observed an adult male in the 4900 block of Georgia Avenue, NW, who appeared to armed with a gun.
Officers attempted to contact this person, however the suspect fled from the officers. After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to stop the male and recovered a semiautomatic handgun. The adult male was arrested for the weapon violations.
The firearm recovered is a semiautomatic, Smith & Wesson, 9mm M&P Shield.
