“Dear PoPville,
RCN internet and cable have been down across many parts of the District since at least midday yesterday. Per my last call with customer service, they don’t have an estimate on when service will be restored. I even asked, “are we talking hours, days, or weeks?”, and she refused to give an estimate. When I asked how many people were affected, she responded, “A LOT.”
The lack of communication from the company is really disheartening – no service is going to be perfect, but do whatever you can to keep customers informed.”
RCN DC Customers: Yesterday a transformer fire in the area severely damaged our fiber; as a result RCN services were affected. Once the area was deemed safe RCN crews began repairs. We will continue to work diligently and safely to restore service. We appreciate your patience.
