From a press release:

“14th Street’s Spanish restaurant & bar Estadio is commemorating its 9th birthday this Saturday, July 13 with a special ‘Cava + Cake’ celebration, featuring half-priced sparkling wines, birthday cake-inspired desserts and revelry. Decked out with balloons and streamers, Estadio is inviting the public to sip discounted Cavas and Champagnes, and treat themselves to sprinkle-adorned sweets from 5 p.m. to close.

All of Estadio’s sparkling wines by the bottle will be discounted 50% for the occasion, starting at just $20. Featuring approximately 20 unique Spanish Cavas, luxe Champagnes and rare magnums, wine lovers are sure to find a spectacular deal but wine director Kevin Martin hand-picked a few celebratory favorites:

“Dry and crisp with a slightly honeyed character and superfine bubbles,” the Malvasia Volcánica, Los Bermejos, Brut Nature, Lanzarote 2014 is the perfect way to kick off the birthday celebration. “It’s the wine [owner] Max [Kuller] and I drank the most of when we were in the Canary Islands this year.” The bottle is regularly $75, but will be only $37.50 all night.

Champagne lovers should take advantage of the discounted deal on the Krug 167ème Édition, of which Martin says, “It’s Krug, and it’s available at Estadio, need we say more?” The splurge normally runs $350, but can be enjoyed for $175 all night.

And for larger groups looking to celebrate with pink bubbles, Martin recommends the magnum of Xarel-lo/Monastrell Blend, Raventos, De Nit, Rosada, 2016, only $50 on 7/13 (regularly $100).” This is one of my all-time favorite Cavas. Pepe, who now makes this, is the 21st generation of the Raventos Family, who has been tending the same land since 1497.”

Pastry Chef René Abarca worked his culinary magic to whip up a festive, sprinkle-adorned birthday Manchego Cheesecake, topped with quince jam and available as a special ($9) all evening. Each funfetti dessert comes topped with a candle for all guests to join in wishing Estadio another happy year.

Estadio’s ‘Cava + Cake’ birthday celebration is free to attend and open to the public, with wine and dessert specials available a la carte.”
