Kenyan Restaurant, Swahili Village, coming to former Honeysuckle space on M Street

1990 M Street, NW

Honeysuckle (previously home to Vidalia) closed here back in April.

Thanks to Kristen, Clinton and Alex for sending the news. Swahili Village’s website says:

“The Swahili Village Bar and Grill’s Fine Kenyan Cuisine captures the essence of three distant lands: India, Arabia, and Persia. A bold, well balanced blend of herbs and seasoning gives this indigenous East African food a unique taste reminiscent of great Asian, Mediterranean, Arabic and Ethiopian empires of the past.

Enjoy the friendly ambience in African dining in the sole Kenyan Cuisine restaurant conveniently located in Beltsville near Washington DC.”

The Washington Business Journal reported: “The restaurant has been open for a decade in Beltsville.”

Check out their menu here and stay tuned for an opening date.
