Man Assaulted by 5 Suspects “believed to be juveniles” 10:35pm in Hill East

Ed. Note: This follows Sunday night’s stabbing homicide at the Potomac Avenue Metro.

From MPD:

“On 4/30/19 at approximately 10:35 p.m., First District officers responded to the 1300 block of Ives Place SE for a report of an assault. On the scene, officers found an adult male victim who was suffering from injuries to his face. The victim stated that he was walking in the area when he was approached by a group of 5 suspects. The suspects began punching the victim, and then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Currently, there is no usable description of the suspects. They are believed to be juveniles.

This incident is actively being investigated by First District Detectives. Should anyone have information or video that may be related, please contact the First District Detectives office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Departments’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”
