Holy Mackerel, the 15th annual Sundress Fest is at Wonderland this Sunday

Cinco de Sundress is going to be epic!

From Wonderland:

“Mesdames et messieurs, boys and girls, the Wonderland Ballroom is very proud to announce that it will be holding its FIFTEENTH Sundress Festival on the fifth of May this year.

Sundress Fest, DC’s best beer-infused block party, is a celebration of summer that takes place at the Wonderland Ballroom every first Sunday of May with proceeds benefiting DC Central Kitchen.”

Literally all the stops – and there were honestly very few stops to begin with – have been pulled for Sundress’s quinceañera. Last year we ordered two swimming pools’ worth of beer, and this year we have four. DC Brau is coming out in force to serve them to you. Last year we got half a day of sun; this year we’ve already been assured by our only Wiccan regular that we’ll have beautiful weather. We have three bands. We have the fantastic Maddy Brannon and Kate Flaherty emceeing affairs from the stage, and we have the mellifluous musical stylings of DJ Keenan Orr until the streetlights come on.”

11th and Kenyon Street, NW

From MPD:

“On Sunday, May 5, 2019, The Wonderland Ballroom Sundress Festival will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be a street closure that motorists should take into consideration:

The following street will be closed and posted as Emergency No Parking for the event from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m:

Kenyon Street, NW from 11th Street, NW to 13th Street, NW

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.”

Paddlestar Galactica helps keep writing education 100% free and accessible for all of our students! It’s also extremely fun.

This year’s games will be Saturday, April 27th, 1 PM to 4 PM at SPIN DC. It’ll be a chaotic afternoon of ping-pong, costumes, terrible Battlestar Galactica puns, and good cheer. We’d love to have you join us!
