“Capital Bikeshare will offer free 24-hour passes this Earth Day, April 22nd, encouraging DC-area residents to give bikeshare a try and choose sustainable, healthy, and fun transportation for their Monday commute.
Riders can obtain their free day pass by downloading the Capital Bikeshare app on April 22nd and entering the promo code EARTHDAY19, providing 24 hours of unlimited 30-minute rides on classic Capital Bikeshare bikes.
Within the app, riders can also find bikes and stations, purchase an annual membership, and see lifetime ride statistics. Trips over 30 minutes will incur usage fees, please remember to always dock your bike at a Capital Bikeshare station after your trip.
So far in 2019, Capital Bikeshare riders have completed nearly 700,000 trips, and have offset more than one million pounds of carbon from entering the atmosphere — the equivalent of carbon sequestered by 582 acres of forests in a single year.
