“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch and the Metro Transit Police Department announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault With Intent to Kill (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in the 3000 block of 14th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 1:10 pm, members of the Third District were flagged down in the 3100 block of 14th Street Northwest for a stabbing victim. Officers located an adult male, suffering from a stab wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.

During the investigation, it was determined the offense occurred outside of the fare gates on the mezzanine level, within the Columbia Heights Metro Station, in the 3000 block of 14th Street, Northwest. The Metro Transit Police Department responded to the scene.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, members of the Metro Transit Police Department located and arrested 20-year-old Delonte Hunter, of Northeast, DC. He was charged with Assault With Intent to Kill while Armed. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has assumed responsibility for this case due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above.
