Gunshots on H Street, NE Last Night

via google maps

UPDATE from MPD:

“Last night at approximately 1045pm officers of the First District encountered a vehicle containing several armed subjects in the area of 5th and K Street NE. The suspects attempted to elude capture, fleeing on foot from the vehicle near 8th and I Street NE. All four subjects were stopped in the area, and two handguns were recovered. That number may increase as we continue our investigation. You may have noticed a maintained presence through the early morning areas as we canvassed the area to ensure there was no further risk to the public. The four subjects were all arrested for possessing the illegal firearms, as well as a quantity of suspected narcotics. Fortunately no officers, suspects, or citizens were harmed during this event.”

I inquired if shots were fired and was told:

“We have reports that a suspects weapon was discharged, however we will not be able to say conclusively until the Department of Forensic Sciences conducts a full examination on the weapon. An officers firearm was discharged, however the round did not strike anyone and the circumstances under which the officers firearm was discharged are also under investigation.

Eric first reported around 11pm:

“Massive police presence on H & I ST NE around 7th and 8th streets. Heard what sounded like gunshots and that they’re looking for someone. Never seen anything like it here.”

Alan Henney reported:

SHOTS FIRED AT AND BY POLICE– Officers had responded to 5th and H Sts NE-DC for report of man w/gun. Officers arriving were confronted by commerical armed robbers who fired at police while fleeing. Police fired back. Nobody got hit. Police have 5 in custody.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
