On Friday we spoke about the Logan Circle Development on 14th next to Peregrine coffee. Kevin Ivers shared with us:
“My first apartment in 1989 was unit 4 of that building. One of the last relics of the old 14th St.
The less than legal “party room” for the residents of the four units in that building, we’d have to cross over the fire escape above a two storey gap between our building and a warehouse roof behind us. We used a telephone cable spool as our patio table, discarded in the alley by the Bell Atlantic switching station on the corner with R St. Facing west — Chastleton and Masonic Temple in the background. Anyway – this kind of living is long gone from 14th St.”
