“Is it going to be a nightclub?”

1541 7th Street, NW

Ed. Note: Back in March 2016 this space was slated to become Yard & Toast. A commenter noted: “I saw a pop up NYE event there under the name “Play Lounge”

Update from MPD:

“MPD was advised that ABRA issued a 4 day temporary license to operate at 1541 7th Street NW from 12-31-18 to 01-3-19 (for the hours of 6pm to 4am).

As for the loud explosion (Ed. Note: see comments), we have received 1 call to 911 last night regarding this. Since then, members of the community have forwarded us some videos of the incident and it appears to have likely been an M80 firework. However, at this time, we are unable to identify any individuals in any of the videos. If anyone has any additional videos of value, please send them to the 3D Commander at [email protected]

Thanks to Rachel and Debra for sending:

“any idea who/what has moved into the space between Tobacco Vape & Passenger?? They launched for New Years tonight with big ol’ bouncers, an overwhelmed valet service (traffic on 7th was a mess), and lines of ladies and gents outfitted in glittery getups. Would love to know who my new neighbors are and if the untz untz action was just for tonight or if a club has officially moved next door and I need to find a new lease…anyone with the scoop?”
