Morris American Bar will be doing a one night pop-up at I’m Eddie Cano, on Monday, November 26th

5014 Connecticut Avenue, NW

From a press release:

Morris American Bar, the whimsical Shaw cocktail haven helmed by master craftsman David Strauss, is popping up for just one night at Chevy Chase newcomer I’m Eddie Cano (located at 5014 Connecticut Avenue NW). The special evening will feature an array of cocktails from Strauss (manning the bar, alongside “shared” employee Doug Fischer), including riffs on classic Italian cocktails and Morris favorites. A selection of highlights include:

Martini Style –
The Philadelpia Cocktail with gin, dry vermouth, curaçao

Manhattan Style –
The Desert Rose with anejo tequila, carping antica, aperol, rosewater, bitters

Apertifs –
The Income Tax with gin, French and Italian vermouth, orange, and bitters

Smashes –
New York Smash with bourbon, red wine, lemon, mint
Boulevard Smash with bourbon, campari, lemon, mint

True to form, Strauss will also be serving up his signature “Bartender’s Choice” option – a highly personalized, free-form style of cocktail service that first took root in Petraske’s famed New York City bar, Milk & Honey, and is a recommended mainstay at Morris.

The inspiration for the pop-up stemmed from Carolyn Papetti (co-owner of I’m Eddie Cano), and Strauss, discovering they had a mutual background in hospitality upon meeting through their children’s school –

“David and I met over three years ago when we our boys were playing baseball together, as they attend the same school. We were mutually thrilled to learn we weren’t “the only set of parents” who both worked in the hospitality industry. Personally, I’ve always loved that he’s stayed true to the craft of the cocktail and it’s all about the integrity of the drink. That speaks to what we do at I’m Eddie Cano – integrity of ingredients and creating an experience for our guests. To that end, doing a fun and lighthearted pop-up for an evening seemed like the perfect opportunity to collaborate!

*Note: While the kitchen will be closed, a selection of cheese plates will be available.

WHEN: Monday, November 26th, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM. Walk-ins only. Please call (202) 890-4995 for additional details.
