“The Big Bus could not have been more blocking the cycle lane, on a busy stretch of street”

“Dear PoPville,

The Big Bus could not have been more blocking the cycle lane, on a busy stretch of street outside Madam Tussauds (10th and F Street, NW). The bus was most definitely parked. The driver feet up on the steering wheel talking to the tour-hawker seen to the right of picture.

Not picking up and dropping off passengers. But engine off, going nowhere, smack-in-the-middle-of-a-well-marked-bikelane parked. I am sympathetic to the shared use of roads, especially in a busy city, and am used to having to leave the vague safety of my bike lane constantly on my morning commute (although loitering Uber drivers are a less forgivable menace). But blatant flouting of the laws, by a professional vehicle, AND when there is clearly room to move closer to the curb, I am hoping some naming and shaming could be in order.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
