Man Shot Multiple Times “in the area of” Union Station around 11:55pm Saturday

From MPD:

“We have a confirmed shooting, a crime scene was located in the area of # 2 Massachusetts Avenue NE with shell casings.  ShotSpotter detected 8 rounds at # 2 Massachusetts Ave.  So we had lookout broadcasted for a Hit & Run vehicle speeding away from Union Station around the same time as when Shotspotter alert come out.

Lookout was for a Red Car, compact car with damage to the front of vehicle.  1D units stopped the suspected vehicle of the Hit & Run at the intersection of New Jersey Ave and K Street NW.  It was occupied 4 times and one of the occupants was shot multiple times. He was sitting in the front passenger seat.  He was transported to Medistar and is being worked on as we speak.  The other three occupants are being interviewed by First District Detectives and DFS is processing the crime scene on Massachusetts Avenue NE.”

“At approximately 11:55 PM last night, First District units responded to a call for a shooting in the unit block of Massachusetts Ave, NE. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, and his injuries are not life threatening.

This case is currently under investigation by members of the First District Detective’s Office. If anyone has any information regarding this crime, you are asked to contact MPD at 202-727-9099. You can also send information to MPD via Text message, at 50411.”
