Photos by KJ Phillips

Thanks to KJ Phillips for sending the Magnolia Bakery update:

“They opened yesterday to a crowd of about 60 waiting with bated breath.”

Previously we learned:

“Founded in New York City’s West Village in 1996, Magnolia Bakery first gained a reputation for its charming vintage decor, inviting atmosphere, and fresh-from-scratch desserts.

The Union Station location will feature Magnolia Bakery’s iconic favorites, all made from scratch and on-site. Signature highlights include Banana Pudding with vanilla wafers, fresh bananas and creamy vanilla pudding; Red Velvet Cake topped with whipped vanilla icing; Key Lime Cheesecake made with a graham cracker crust; and Sea Salt Caramel Cookies made with chocolate chunks and handmade sea salt caramel, in addition to both classic and signature cupcakes, cookies, cakes, pies, and more.

Magnolia Bakery will be located inside Union Station at 50 Massachusetts Ave. NE Washington, DC 20002 and will operate Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.”
