From MPD:

“On Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at approximately 9pm, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) was called to the area of the 4700 block of 3rd St N.W. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, MPD units were advised that an unknown individual began shooting at a group of people that were in the block. Three victims were located within the block, all suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the lower extremities. The victims were all transported to area hospitals for treatment and their conditions are currently listed as stable.

The investigation revealed that the suspect, described as a Black/male in his 20’s, thin build, wearing all black clothing, and armed with a black handgun, ran eastbound on 3rd St. N.W., toward New Hampshire Ave and got into what was described as a white 4 door vehicle which fled south on New Hampshire Ave and then turned right onto Crittenden Street going westbound.
