11th and U Street, NW

I also like the new Jackie Lee’s on Kennedy Street. Having said all that, I understand as a District of over 700,000 folks there will be varied tastes. As such, whatever floats your boats my friends, whatever floats your boats. Truly! Without further ado from a press release:

The team that brought you Game of Thrones PUB last summer is going multi-dimensional with an homage to another TV favorite: Rick and Morty. Drink Company’s Wubba Lubba Dub PUB (1839 7th Street NW) features a fully immersive experience across all three adjacent Drink Company bars and will run Thursday, August 9 through Saturday, October 6.

The latest limited-run pop-up from the innovative, internationally recognized team behind Miracle on 7th Street, Cherry Blossom PUB, Royal Wedding PUB and Game of Thrones PUB, will include, among other thrills, their take on Anatomy Park, the Cromulons’ Cygnus-5 expanse, dimension 35-C Farmer Rick’s Mega Tree farm, a gang of life-sized Meeseeks that have lived entirely too long and, of course, Real Fake Doors.

There will be dozens of additional Rick and Morty Easter eggs for superfans to discover throughout the space, including a recreation of Rick’s garage-turned-lab, a reverse giraffe, and the iconic Space Cruiser. (There will also be a special entrance for costumed Ricks, who I guess, can bring their Morty.)

“We are passionate about this show,” says Drink Company CEO and mega-fan Angie Fetherston, who, with her PUB team, hatched the idea on Halloween while dressed as the Council of Ricks. “The incredible artists working on this project wanted to build an altar to a show that’s brought them and countless others so much joy. You can see our fandom and our love for the series in every amazing detail.”

The team includes graffiti-artist Andrew Funk, sculptor (and robot master) Andrew Herndon, Meeseeks-maker Maria Aspiazu and Drink Company Special Projects team Matt Fox, Adriana Salame-Aspiazu and Alisa Wyman.

“The creator of Rick and Morty once said, ‘This show will never punish you for obsessing about it,'” says Fox. “So, we tried to go super deep and have a lot of fun with bringing everything we love about it to life.”

“The imagery is incredibly rich, and hopefully it will evoke a feeling of being in that dimension, but also make you laugh a little bit,” adds Salame-Aspiazu. “Rick and Morty has so many worlds that I wish we had 10 more spaces for the PUB because we could fill them all.”

As with all Drink Company PUBs, Wubba Lubba Dub PUB will feature an exclusive menu of original cocktails specially conceived and crafted by Head of Bar Concepts Paul Taylor to perfectly play into the theme.

Menu highlights include “Get Schwifty,” a mix of tequila, St. Germain, watermelon, lime and salt; “Plumbus,” made with St. George Green Chile vodka, Manzanilla, grapefruit and sparkling water; and “Existence Is Pain,” a combination of gin, blanc vermouth, Blue Curacao, coconut water, lemon and absinthe.

At the end of the PUB’s run, the custom Rick and Morty-inspired art will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to Destination Imagination. This local non-profit organization is dedicated to a hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Drink Company is keen to give back to Destination Imagination as a special thanks for inspiring Fox when he was a student.”
