4. Most of us are wholly unprepared for a major emergency. God forbid if the shit ever really does go down – most of us are screwed. We should be prepared to shelter in place for at least 3 days. Go here for more info. Seriously.

8. We will raid grocery stores as soon as something gets trending on twitter – catchy hashtag or not.

9. Schadenfreude remains strong in many neighborhoods of D.C. as do quadrant rivalries.

10. Please get to know your elderly neighbors who may not obsessively be on the computer/twitter and let them know when something like this is happening.
