“What do you get when you stuff a small corn “pancake” with cheese, beans, pork, and other items? A papusa! Papusas will again be the theme for Papusafest. This festival, hosted by the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Columbia Heights, features papusas which are handmade by the church’s largely Central American based parishioners.
The church will be selling papusas as early as 8 a.m. on Sunday June 24th, and for $5, you will get 2 papusas and a drink. All of the money raised during the event will support the church’s services and ministries. The church is located at 16th St and Park Rd NW. For more information visit here.”
