Love Orchids? Don’t Miss Orchid Mania at The Lemon Collective this Saturday

3015 Georgia Avenue, NW

From an email:

“Join us for an orchid-filled day at The Lemon Collective! Orchid Mania is a three-part event. Join us for one portion or all three!

1:00 – 2:00 pm: Orchid Clinic for Beginners and Mini Pop-up Sale (FREE)
Bring us your tired, your poor, your wilty moth orchids — the ones you probably bought at the grocery store on a whim and then all the flowers fell off. We’ll do our best to diagnose the problem. We’ll also have some orchids for sale in case you want to grow your collection.

2:00 – 3:00 pm:

Orchids without Fear: A Talk on Basic Phalaenopsis Orchid Care ($15-$20)
Learn basic care for the most commonly available orchid, the phalaenopsis or moth orchid. We’ll cover watering, light requirements, re-blooming, and common misconceptions about these plants. As a bonus, we’ll throw in some fun/weird orchid facts (there are many) and a dash of history as well.
Tickets are $20 each or bring your bestie and get two tickets for $30.

3:30 – 4:30 pm: Living Wall Hangings with Orchids Workshop ($50-$55)
In this one-hour workshop, we’ll teach students how to make a beautiful living wall hanging with miniature moth orchids. In their natural environment, these plants grow on trees, not in the pots you see at the garden store. We’ll show students how to grow these plants vertically with a little bit of moss and tree bark. All materials, including plants and care instructions, will be provided.
Tickets are $55 each or bring your bestie and get two tickets for $100.

Sign up for both the lecture and workshop for $65.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
