UPDATE: A new bike was found for him – thanks to all the generous folks who offered. This was an awesome outpouring of support. The best of the Internet, the best of D.C. Thank you again.

“Dear PoPville,

DC – I need your help! I’ve been working in a building in Metro Center for three years now. Since I’ve started, I’ve gotten to know folks in the building. There is the sweetest, most humble young man that is always in the most positive spirit that I’ve gotten to know that does deliveries from the salad place in the building on his bike. Last week coming back from lunch, I saw him on his bike and noticed that the bike was barely rideable.

I talked to him about it and he said that the gears weren’t working, the handle bars weren’t secure and the bike was basically done. (I think it was done about a year ago) Today I saw him on a bike share and he said that it was too expensive for him but he also didn’t want to lose his job. His bike is the only way he gets around the city for work and life in general. This young man is out delivering salads in the rain, snow (with no winter coat might I add) and just hustling everyday with what he has… always with a smile.

Do you or any one you know have a solid bike that you’d be willing to donate to him? I thought about going the go fund me route but figured I’d start here first. It’s people like you and me that can make a difference in someone else’s life and I’m hoping that – that’s what we can do for him. Thank you!!!!”

If you are able to help, please email [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
