Heads Up Red Line Riders and Zoo Visitors – Cleveland Park and Woodley Park Metro Stations are Closed this Weekend; Buses replace trains between Van Ness and Dupont Circle

Here is a summary of Metrorail service changes for Saturday, May 12 & Sunday, May 13 to allow for safety and maintenance work:

Highlights

Free shuttle buses replace Red Line trains between Van Ness and Dupont Circle.
Silver Line trains operate every 24 minute, Wiehle-Reston East to Ballston.
Orange and Blue line trains operate every 24 minutes.
Yellow Line trains operate every 15 minutes, Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq.
Green Line trains operate every 15 minutes.

Weeknight service adjustments

Red Line
Buses replace trains between Van Ness and Dupont Circle

Red Line trains will operate between Shady Grove & Van Ness and Dupont Circle & Glenmont every 10 minutes opening until 9:00 p.m. and every 15 minutes after 9:00 p.m.

Free shuttle buses will operate between Van Ness and Dupont Circle making intermediate stops at Cleveland Park, the National Zoo entrance and Woodley Park stations. Please allow 10 minutes of travel time for each station stop.

Stations closed: Cleveland Park and Woodley Park

To allow for shuttle bus connections, the last trains will depart 25 minutes earlier than normal at stations from Shady Grove to Van Ness in both directions.

Work performed: Track maintenance, joint elimination, rail and fastener renewal.

Tap your SmarTrip card each time you enter and exit the Metrorail system. Riders traveling through the work zone will be charged for a single, continuous trip.

This work will continue on the weekends of May 19-20 and May 26-27.

Orange Line
Trains every 24 minutes

Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for rail, fastener, cover board and grout pad renewal.

Silver Line
Trains every 24 minutes, Wiehle-Reston East to Ballston

Silver Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.

Blue Line
Trains every 24 minutes

Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for rail, fastener, cover board and grout pad renewal.

Yellow Line
Trains every 15 minutes, Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq only
Yellow Line trains will operate every 15 minutes between Huntington & Mt Vernon Sq to coordinate with rebuilding on the Blue and Green lines. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt Vernon Sq should use the Green Line to complete their trip.

Green Line
Trains every 15 minutes
Single tracking between Fort Totten and Prince George’s Plaza to allow for platform rehabilitation, rail and fastener renewal.”
