“DC Health’s Sex Is … campaign is working with the Say It, Out Loud Urban Storytelling Collective on a unique evening of stories about the joy and complexity of love, sex, and relationships.
This special Pop-Up Storytelling event will feature a local, intergenerational group of storytellers to share their adventures with love, sex and relationships, as we begin to shift the popular narrative toward a more positive attitude about sex and sexuality. The event will be held at the Ten Tigers Parlour in Petworth on March 22, from 6:30–8:30 pm. Admission is for adults 18+ and costs $15 through our Eventbrite page.
Following the stories, we’ll open the floor for an open and frank discussion about the challenges young people and people of color face when seeking advice and information on sex, relationships, and gender issues. For more information about Say It, Out Loud, go to www.sayitstories.org.
The Sex Is … campaign is a bold new initiative developed by the DC DOH in collaboration with DC youth. The campaign’s mission is to foster a sex-positive environment by encouraging open, honest, and judgment-free conversations about sex and sexual health among youth, and between youth and trusted adults.
