VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR 2018 NATIONAL CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

Get a behind-the-scenes experience and support the nation’s greatest springtime celebration

March 20 – April 16, 2018

WHO               Friendly, cooperative, and reliable volunteers of all ages to join the 2018 National Cherry Blossom Festival Volunteer Program. Individuals, local businesses with community service programs, and community service groups are encouraged to volunteer. Knowledge about Washington, DC and the surrounding area is helpful but not necessary. The program is supported by Guest Services, Inc.

WHAT             Volunteers can assist the Festival in a variety of exciting roles, including:

  • Balloon handlers for the televised National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade®
  • “Kite Cops” to enforce safe kite-flying at the Blossom Kite Festival
  • “Behind the scenes” logistics roles at Petalpalooza
  • Event set-up and breakdown, attendee interaction at the Tidal Basin and signature events, site maintenance and more

WHEN             The Festival runs from Monday, March 20 through Sunday, April 15.  Volunteer registration is available starting February 9, 2018 and continues throughout the Festival.
