“A stranger saved me on the Metro – Thank You!”

Photo by PoPville flickr user Jennifer

“Dear PoPville,

Thursday morning (around 7:35am) a random jerk was cursing at me repeatedly at the U St. metro station (apparently, he didn’t approve of me running with my 3-year old in a stroller) and he actually followed me to continue to yell and curse at me. A kind gentleman blocked him from getting on the same train car as me and my child and told him repeatedly to just leave me alone and walk away.

Because of this selfless act, the mean jerk had to board a different train car. I was so shaken by the mean guy’s harassment that I never properly thanked the nice young man who defended me.
I’ve been riding the green line for years. This wasn’t some rowdy teenager nor someone “off his meds”. This was just an extremely rude and aggressive (mansplaining) yuppie. But I still felt very scared for my child. So glad this other guy, a very kind gentleman, intervened and stood up for me.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
