previous jaywalking enforcement at Connecticut and K Street, NW back in 2011
Dana reports last night:
“Just got a ticket at 14th&S NW for crossing against the signal on foot. (Flashing red hand). Officer said enforcement due to uptick in pedestrian deaths in 2017 compared to 2016.”
Ed. Note: I had no idea you couldn’t cross when there was a flashing red hand – can that be right? You can’t start crossing when it’s flashing but you can finish crossing, is that it? When I see a flashing hand but still have a green light I just double time it. Crazy. Anyway, heads up and be safe whatever your mode of transport.
