Fundraiser for “Cheryl Morning, a long-time Janney partner teacher, was severely injured when her house caught fire last Sunday”

via GoFundMe

Thanks to all who passed on (you can make donations here):

“Dear Janney Community,

I’m reaching out to share challenging news: Cheryl Morning, a long-time Janney partner teacher, was severely injured when her house caught fire last Sunday, November 12th. Ms. Morning is currently in a medically induced coma with burns over seventy percent of her body. Her doctors recently completed a third surgery and her vital signs remain steady. Ms. Morning’s mother was also in the fire and is currently in the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. We are in regular communication with her family, and staff members have visited the hospital.

The staff sponsored a large grocery delivery for Ms. Morning’s family and also sponsored a ham and turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. The families of Ms. Morning’s current PK class and the families of last year’s PK class are organizing grocery deliveries for the upcoming weeks. Please note that the students in Ms. Morning’s PK class have been told that Ms. Morning is sick and that we hope she feels better soon.

Ms. Morning’s family will need a lot of support in the coming weeks and months and I will be in touch shortly with more information on our support efforts. In the short term, please consider donating to the GoFundMe page that was established by Ms. Morning’s brother, Jonathan Streat. We will also be collecting get well cards and messages to deliver to the hospital; those messages can be dropped off in the main office.

Thank you for keeping Ms. Morning and her family in your thoughts during this challenging time. I will reach out with more information and updates as they become available.

Warm Regards,
Alysia Lutz, Principal”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
