“I spotted this hawk a block from Lincoln Park in NE DC (Capitol Hill). The hawk first circled a tree and then swooped in and grabbed a squirrel in its talons. The hawk was unable to hold on to the squirrel and dropped it into a front yard. The squirrel fell into some ivy and was out of sight. The hawk sat on this fence for a while, trying to spot the squirrel, but then gave up and flew away. Pretty amazing scene.”
