From MPD:

“Investigators with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a fatal traffic incident that occurred Monday, October 23, 2017, in the 4800 block of Arkansas Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 2:30 am, a 2003 Yamaha SR6 motorcycle was traveling northeast of the listed location, when it crossed into the opposite direction. The preliminary investigation suggests that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control. The vehicle then mounted a curb and the operator was ejected, striking a fire hydrant. DC fire and EMS responded and found no signs consistent with life. The operator was pronounced dead on the scene.

The decedent has been identified as 23-year-old Anderson Alberto Flores-Flores, of Northwest, DC.”
