“How many people can legally live in one home?”

Photo by PoPville flickr user Peter Hershey

“Dear PoPville,

We live in a nice neighborhood where rent is high. All our neighbors in our house (rowhome) are responsible professionals. Our neighbors have around 10 people living in one house and they are constantly having outrageous parties that go till 5 am with screaming people outside and the house is literally shaking from the music.

We have tried to talk to them repeatedly and they don’t stop.

Our landlords have talked to their landlord and he doesn’t care (typical slumlord). They leave mounds of trash outside constantly for rats to get in…enough that the city won’t pick it all up. We’ve called the police and they still do it.

What can we do at this point? How many people can legally live in one home? Is there a zoning office to call? Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
