Well this is awkward I had no idea Bayou closed!?!?!! I mean I knew Bayou on the Hill had closed but holy smokes was I asleep at the wheel. Well, better late than never and here’s the deal on their replacement:

From an email:

“As you may know, we closed Bayou back in May. However, we still have the space and we’ve renovated it into a gorgeous private event space we now call Alfred House. We are using it as a private event venue that people can rent out for private parties. We named Alfred House after Alfred Mullett, an American architect who designed the Old Executive Office Building, among other federal buildings in DC. He actually lived in the rowhouse where the venue is, so that’s how we came up with the name. A fully restored 1889 rowhouse, Alfred House offers a full kitchen, two bars, and a customizable space for any kind of event. With our preferred caterers and in-house party planners, the Alfred House is the perfect spot for social events, corporate gatherings, and wedding parties.

On the weekends, we’re also using the space as a live music venue, much like Bayou.

We hosted our first big concert this past weekend with Lucas Hoge and Nick Alligood. The turnout was great and everyone had a wonderful time. Our next big concert there is with Will Overman Band on Saturday, August 19th, which I just confirmed yesterday. He’s a UVA alum from Charlottesville who has a very unique sound, reminiscent of John Prine and Bob Dylan, among others. It’s going to be a fantastic show.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
