5830 Georgia Ave, NW

Ed. Note: This is the former Salt and Pepper Grill III (Indian) space and Chocolate Crust before that.

Almost forgot about this:

“The BBQ Bus Smokehouse will feature the well-loved smoky sandwiches and picnic plates served from the food truck since 2011 plus original additions created in honor of the surrounding Brightwood community, including a new Georgia Avenue Gold slow-smoked pulled pork sandwich.

Other dishes include soy and brown sugar brined chicken wings, baby back ribs, Angus brisket, choriozo mac and cheese, and bacon mashed potatoes.”

Stay tuned for an exact opening date.

Talked to the guy in the food truck last week, he said 2-3 weeks. Keep an eye on the website for more details.

Spot seems cursed by traffic patterns, hopefully they can survive. I liked their stuff when they first came out (before there were a few better BBQ options in DC), haven’t had them in years though.

And right next door the old Brightwood Bistro will become the second location of IMM Thai. ANC 4C approved their settlement agreement with the community last month.

“I hope it is black owned”?? Why not Asian, White, or Latino? Well, frankly I don’t care and hope that it is well run, friendly, and has good food.
