Yep, this is indeed the work of Robin Bell.

  • MadMax

Washingtonian did an interview with the guy. He also projected the whole emoluments clause on the hotel.
(And yes it was Robin Bell.)

  • Carey

Where is it being projected from? If it were at street level, it would constantly get blocked by traffic.

    • MadMax

From a van across the street.

      • Duponter

In front of the EPA, which is even better.

  • LosLobos

What are the legal restrictions on something like this? It’s not like he’s defacing the property, but the hotel could plausibly sue for damages to the brand, no?

    • DE

Might be more effective to sue Trump himself for damage to the brand. No one else even comes close.

Theoretically, they could… but I suspect that the downside of opening their records to discovery is probably greater than whatever they might win should they prevail in litigation…

I was wondering – the Post story said that the security guard made Bell and friends take it down. But – how? and on what grounds? It isn’t vandalism, I don’t think, and if the van is in a legal parking spot, what crime is being committed if they called the cops? What would the police do?

I rarely give to gofundme but if we could have this done on the regular I would happily contribute. Robin Bell, do work!

  • walk around

Trump or not–if someone does this to my property, I cannot say I am going to beat the shit out of him, but I guess I’ll try some water hose.

    • Duponter

Not sure that will do much to someone sitting in a van, but sure, go ahead!

      • MadMax

Bring some soap and make it a party.
