From MPD:

“At approximately 1:45pm this afternoon, 2 subjects approached an individual in the 1200 block of S Street NW and attempted to rob her. The suspects ran off and responding units located them in the 2000 block of 9th Street NW. Both individuals were quickly stopped without incident and positively identified as the subjects who committed the attempted robbery. At the time of the arrest, one of the individuals was in possession of a handgun, which was recovered. Both subjects are adult males and were charged with Assault with the Intent to Rob While Armed, along with other charges. The victim of the robbery attempt was not injured and no property was obtained.

This is another excellent example of the community and the police working together to get 2 violent criminals and an illegal handgun off the streets.”

Sort of OT but sort of related….

For anyone who has been around DC long enough, Richard Pennington who was Assistant chief at the MPD and was New Orleans police chief from from 1994 to 2002, just died. Don’t remember how people in DC felt about him but NOLA people sure did (except all the corrupt cops that were fired). He ran for mayor but lost to Nagin.

  • This reads like some kind of Mad-Libs game where you fill in the blanks to make a story. “2 subjects approached an individual in the 1200 block of S Street NW and attempted to rob her. The suspects ran off” — (because a a cobra suddenly emerged from the bushes – an earthquake caused them to tumble to the ground – the intended victim was actually a ninja who crippled them with her lethal kicks.) Seriously – why even post something so lacking in real information?

Honestly, I really have no idea what you’re trying to say either.

  • I’m glad it’s posted and thank POP for posting what he had. Now we a know two thugs at 12th and G NW pulled a gun in the f’ing afternoon, got nabbed and the victim is safe. This, along with the 15th & U St NW gun caper posted last week hits close to home.

    • I was at work @ 12 & G and there and heard / saw TONS of cops all over that block – but didn’t know why. I appreciated knowing the backstory. Any chance there is ore information out there about it? Thanks either way.
