Hot Dog Haven, DC-3, closed back in June 2016. Eater DC reported:

“Fledgling restaurant group The Fried Rice Collective — helmed by Mandu co-founder Danny Lee, Matchbox Food Group co-founder Drew Kim, and Scott Drewno, the award-winning, dim sum-making chef who left The Source at the end of April — plans to introduce itself to the D.C. dining scene via a collaborative project slotted for Barracks Row.”

STAY TUNED.

That collection of chefs is super promising, can’t wait to see what they come up with!

This sounds awesome! Excited for something different!

Do they know what fledgling means? I think “emerging” would have been a better word choice, unless the writer was trying to slam the restaurant group.

    • MadMax

Well it was written by Eater DC, not exactly the NYT of food news.

Cool cool cool! I miss the easy take-out that DC-3 provided, but I’m glad to see that this block will be getting some good eats.

The city is also sorely lacking in good hot dog spots. Burger options galore, but the sister meat+bun combo is so underrepresented.

Does anybody know if the DC3 at Dulles is still open?

    • MadMax

Yes, and if I recall they are expanding to other airports (where the theme goes over better).

The one at BWI is at least.

Nice! I feel like it’s been a while since our neighborhood got a cool new place.
