Wait, are they in the middle of a reno or have they closed down permanently?

    • They abruptly closed in Jan. 2015 and haven’t been open since despite other claims and scuttlebutt https://www.popville.com/2015/01/uptown-tap-house-closes-in-cleveland-park-will-reopen-under-new-management-with-new-menu-in-the-fall/

Ah, thanks for the info! Glad they’re providing the public space for sign making.

This place was a disaster. I wasn’t terribly surprised that they closed or were sad to see them go. They couldn’t decide if they wanted to be a sports bar or a Clyde’s knock-off, neither of which the neighborhood needed, so it had this weird vibe with a menu that was over-priced bar food. Service was non-existent – 30 minutes to order beers when the place was 3/4 empty. I would LOVE if something like Ted’s Bulletin opened here.

It was rumored that some concept by the McFadden’s group was going to open there. Then it was supposed to be a World of Beer. Then nothing. Looks like it’s still available to lease.

Curious, as I live in Cleveland Park and we have had a lot of retail turnover. Is this a permanent art house? Concerned that if they are not careful, it will turn into a fire hazard similar to what took the lives of the artists in Oakland a few months ago.
