Short wheelbase Series II Landy. Beautiful.

Can’t tell if it is painted grey or is bare metal.

Agreed, this is a classic Land Rover. I’ve seen another one on Capitol Hill often parked near A Street NE, although that one is a little rougher around the edges.
I have to admit that I have a hard time telling the difference between the Series II and the Series IIA. In terms of sheer volume, there were far more IIA Landys produced, but either way this particular example was built sometime between 1958 and 1971.
In terms of value, the Series II and IIA are starting to attract some money. Depending on condition they might fetch as much as $30k-$40k, however an unrestored daily driver is perhaps more likely to be in the $10k-$20k range.
