Gunshots or Fireworks? Multiple Shots Fired Reported Last Night

cops_searching

Ed. Note: On twitter I was also told around 6:30/7:30pm “Blasts of gunfire near 1/Q NW mins ago while I was walking dog, car windows shot out, MPD on scene.” and in response to that: “My boyfriend and I were mugged last night at gunpoint on FL between 1st and R NW. Activity is def picking up in this area.”

From MPD:

Tonight our 1D units responded to three radio assignments for sounds of gunshots within a very short period of time. I would like to share the outcome of these calls for service:

  • The first call at 1st and M Street, SW, at approximately 2105 hours, was cleared by foot patrol and mountain bike officers as FIREWORKS. The officers observed several children in the company of an adult playing with sparklers and small firecrackers. Upon the officer’s arrival, all fireworks had been expended. The adult was advised about DC Law regarding firework use/possession and the scene was cleared without incident.
  • The second call was at 1647 C Street, NE, at approximately 2155 hours. 1D units responded to the call for a single shot heard and after an extensive canvass cleared the assignment with no property damage discovered and no injuries reported. The report numbers are 17-058172.
  • The third and final call was at 228 17th Street, NE (rear of location) at approximately 2158 hours. 1D units responded to the call for a single shot heard and again, after an extensive canvass cleared the assignment with no property damage discovered and no injuries reported. The report numbers are 17-058173.

If you have any information to share on the two reported sound of gunshot calls, please contact the CIC at 727-9099 and reference the assigned report numbers. Thank you in advance for your assistance and have a safe evening.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
