I’ve never seen it on anywhere, but maybe check with Southern themed places that have a bar like Due South? If the racists are on TV anywhere it’s probably there.

      • Oh boy…

          Freudian slip?

        • dcd

That’s hilarious. Spellcheck snafu or Freudian slip? We’ll never know . . .

          +1! awesome!

Maybe the best comment in POPville history

I haven’t come across a bar that is dedicated to NASCAR, but I’m sure many would put it on if you ask. Nanny O’Brien’s in Cleveland Park, for example, often has random sports/events on some of the TVs and is usually not that crowded on Sundays. I’m sure the bartenders would put it on for you there.

    • HaileUnlikely

This. Several times a year I will go into a bar at a less-busy time and ask them to put a live track meet on TV and I have never had anybody refuse. I wouldn’t go into a packed one where everybody is watching MLB games and try that, but at one with more televisions than customers at the moment, they’ll be happy to. (You like to watch people drive around in circles; I like to watch people run around in circles!)

    Try Crystal City Sports Pub

    I think Solly’s does.

    • jsauri

I’ve definitely seen it on there. I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone paying close attention. I don’t think they pull a nascar crowd.

there are a few good places in md where you can pull a chair up to the beltway to watch cars drive in a circle.

But there are fewer crashes in NASCAR

      • Anon

        Hence the Beltway appeal…

By the way, PoP, your Google analytics work great. On this post, 5 of the 9 Sponsored Content windows refer to auto racing in some way. I promise you that there is nothing in my internet usage that would make this a good use of advertising dollars.

    • HaileUnlikely

Yep. I usually don’t look at those, but this comment prompted me to check. I get 5 Nascar and 1 “viral kittens.” We know the kittens one is appropriate and it is HaileLikely that I will click it ;)

    • Hill Denizen

Much better than the usual toe nail fungus and magical weight loss or anti-aging cure that also looks visually disturbing. Maybe you should just add “NASCAR” to the end of every post to save my gag reflex.

Mine are not as bad as usual, but I’m still seeing a picture of a chest wall lesion.

Last week or so the Wall Street Journal printed a feature explaining NASCAR attendance down 50% since display of confederate flag and all day pole strippers have been curtailed at races about a year ago. Had to do with the cars unable to sell sponsorships for expected sums as well.

  • danger dave

Odd on this person moving to DC for a Trump related change?!

  • Kokojoy

There is a group that watches NASCAR at caddies in Bethesda but there isn’t any volume.
